Elvis on Tour on DVD and Blu-ray
Written by admin on January 12, 2010 – 5:50 pm -Some good news today. The Official Elvis website states that Elvis on Tour is finally getting a DVD release. There will also be a Blu-ray version.

The Golden Globe winning documentary features performances from Elvis’ April ’72 tour, along with rehearsals and backstage footage.
Elvis on Tour has never had an official DVD release, so today’s news is long awaited. There is no news on extras and I do feel it would be a missed opportunity not to include some. Fans have waited a long time for this release, and many will have an unauthorised version of both the movie and outtakes in quite reasonable quality. A DVD release should at least contain some bonus performances. |
The Elvis on Tour DVD/Blu-ray might also lead to more audio material being released from this project on the Follow that Dream (FTD) collectors’ label, as it has been suggested in the past that this is being held off to coincide with a DVD release.
Also announced is a 17-film Ultimate Collector’s Edition DVD box set, which will include Elvis on Tour, Viva Las Vegas, Jailhouse Rock and more.
The releases are scheduled for the Fall and presumably won’t be restricted to the US.
