Elvis and The Beatles exhibit opens in September
Written by admin on May 24, 2011 – 7:05 pm -Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc, and The Beatles Story in Liverpool are coming together to develop an exhibit that will examine Elvis’ impact on the Fab Four and commemorate the day in August 1965 that The Beatles visited Elvis at his home in Bel Air, California.
The “Elvis and Us” exhibit will open at The Beatles Story museum at Liverpool’s Albert Dock on September 28. |
“Elvis and Us” will be an interactive, multimedia exhibit featuring music, video and historical artifacts, including the white Fender bass guitar played by Elvis and The Beatles during their 1965 meeting, and the pool table that they played on that evening.
Among the other artifacts that will be included in the exhibit are an acetate of Elvis’ first album and a shirt he wore in Jailhouse Rock.
Unfortunately, there is no suggestion that the exhibit will include photographs of Elvis and The Beatles together. Forty-six years on, the best image to emerge is this one featuring John Lennon walking to his car and Elvis in the doorway.
