Elton John opens the Electric Proms
Written by admin on October 28, 2010 – 11:50 pm -Elton John kicked off this year’s Electric Proms with a bang tonight at the Roundhouse in London. He was joined on stage by his friend and mentor Leon Russell, with whom he has just released the album “The Union.”
The lengthy track featured selections from the new album, as well as many classics such as “Tiny Dancer”, “Your Song” and a duet on “I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues” with Plan B (aka Ben Drew). |

An edited version of the show will be shown at 10:45 PM on Saturday night on BBC Two. This will form part of an Elton John night on the channel. The show will be preceded by “The Making of Elton John: Madman Across the Water” in which Elton recalls his formative years and early days. The third show of the night will be “Elton John at the BBC” which features a selection of archive performances from his long career.

I am always impressed that Elton John sings and plays passionate music that touches the soul. He shows wonderful and high level taste in music. Despite some people always want to stigmatize his reputation and criticize him for singing in gay wedding or something like that, he’s a legend and will remain so.
