Dionne Warwick sues “Baby It’s You!” producers
Written by admin on April 28, 2011 – 9:44 pm -Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Broadway Baby LLC are accused of “cashing in on plaintiffs’ stories and successes, while using plaintiffs’ names, likenesses and biographical information without their consent and in violation of the law.”
“Baby It’s You!” opened last night on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre, following previews from March 26. Florence Greenberg is played by Tony Award winner Beth Leavel. The well-received show is packed with many 1960s pop classics, including “Dedicated To The One I Love,” “Duke Of Earl,” “He’s So Fine,” “Soldier Boy,” “I Say A Little Prayer,” “It’s My Party,” “Mama Said,” “Shout,” “Louie Louie,” “Rockin’ Robin,” “Twist and Shout” and many more.
The original cast recording of “Baby It’s You!” will be released by Universal Music Group’s Verve label on June 14. Click here to pre-order.
