Paul McCartney receives Gershwin Prize from President Obama
Written by admin on June 3, 2010 – 6:50 pm -President Obama presented Paul McCartney with his Gershwin Prize for Popular Song at the White House on Wednesday (June 2).
The President paid tribute to McCartney’s long career:
“By its very definition, popular music is fleeting. Rarely is it composed with an eye towards standing the test of time. Rarer still does it actually achieve that distinction. And that’s what makes Paul’s career so legendary. |

McCartney’s tour bus attacked
Written by admin on June 1, 2010 – 5:32 pm -Paul McCartney had a lucky escape when his tour bus was attacked in Mexico.
The incident happened after McCartney’s successful show at the city’s Foro Sol stadium. The tour bus was being driven through what has been called a “no-go” area of the city when it was attacked by youths, who climbed onto it and jumped up and down on the roof.

Paul McCartney to perform at the White House
Written by admin on May 22, 2010 – 7:59 pm -Sir Paul McCartney will perform a concert at the White House in July, after President Obama has presented him with the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
McCartney is the third recipient of the Gershwin award, after Paul Simon in 2007 and Stevie Wonder in 2009, both of whom are expected to take part in the McCartney concert, along with Elvis Costello and Dave Grohl. |
