Beatles Red and Blue albums remastered
Written by admin on September 15, 2010 – 10:09 pm -| Following on from last year’s Beatles’ remasters collections, EMI will release remastered editions of the popular “Red” (1962-1966) and “Blue” (1967-1970) albums on October 19.
The 2-disc releases will include an expanded booklet with original liner notes, rare pictures, and essays by Bill Flanagan (editorial director and senior vice president at VH1). |

Another 70th birthday tribute for John Lennon

A star-studded line up will gather to pay tribute to John Lennon at a benefit gig at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on November 12. Among the artists scheduled to perform are Cyndi Lauper, Jackson Browne, Patti Smith and Aimee Mann. |

Lady Gaga to pay tribute to John Lennon
Written by admin on September 1, 2010 – 9:40 pm -| Yoko Ono has announced two concerts to commemorate what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday. The “We Are Plastic Ono Band” shows will take place on October 1 and 2 at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.
Among the artists scheduled to appear alongside the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band are Lady Gaga, Iggy Pop, the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, Sonic Youth members Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, and John Lennon’s son Sean. |

John Lennon would have been 70 years old on October 9. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of his untimely death on December 8.

October 5 will see a major series of John Lennon releases, including remasters of each of his solo albums (available individually or as 12-CD box set), a greatest hits CD and a 4-CD package of rarities.

The Beatles – 100 Greatest Songs

“The Beatles: 100 Greatest Songs” includes an introduction by Elvis Costello, special sections on the Beatles’ favourite songs and an overview of each of the 100 tracks. |
