Hollywood screening of Beatles’ first American concert

On February 11, Hollywood’s Egyptian Theater will screen the complete American concert debut of The Beatles, with special guests The Beach Boys and Lesley Gore.

This is the first time the film has been seen in its entirety since the four nationwide closed-circuit screenings which took place over two weekends in March 1964.

Elvis and The Beatles most commonly forged autographs

Elvis Presley and The Beatles were the most commonly forged autographs of entertainment/historical figures in 2010, according to autograph authentication firm PSA/DNA Authentication Services.

Elvis Presley 1957 PSA/DNA notes that the amount of authentic Elvis autographs is “extremely limited” and that there are a large number of forgeries in the United States and Europe – particularly Germany and the Netherlands.

Abbey Road crossing receives Grade II listing

The iconic zebra crossing on The Beatles’ “Abbey Road” album cover has been granted the protection of a Grade II listing by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

McCartney at the 100 Club

Paul McCartney to play 100 Club Sir Paul McCartney will play at London’s 100 Club on Friday lunchtime. With a capacity of just 300 seats, this will be McCartney’s smallest gig since he played the Cavern Club in Liverpool in 1999.

The 2011 Grammy Hall of Fame inductees

The Beatles, Fats Domino, Otis Redding and Joan Baez are among the artists whose recordings will be entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2011.

The Grammy Hall of Fame Award was established by The Recording Academy’s National Trustees in 1973. The aim was to “honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old.” To date, 881 recordings have been inducted.
