Early Beatles collaborator, Tony Sheridan, dies aged 72
Written by admin on February 17, 2013 – 9:37 pm -British singer/guitarist and early Beatles collaborator, Tony Sheridan, died in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday (Feb 16). He was 72.
Sheridan’s family posted the following statement on his Facebook profile on Saturday:
“Our beloved father and friend! Thank you for your love and inspiration. You left us today at 12.00 pm.”

Leroy “Sugarfoot” Bonner of the Ohio Players dies aged 69
Written by admin on January 29, 2013 – 6:11 pm -Ohio Players frontman, Leroy “Sugarfoot” Bonner, died in Trotwood-Dayton, Ohio on Friday (January 25) after a battle with cancer. He was 69.
Bonner’s family posted the following message on his Facebook page:
“Yesterday, Leroy “Sugarfoot” Bonner passed away quietly in his hometown of Trotwood-Dayton, OH. While his family, …friends, colleagues, and fans mourn his passing they celebrate fondly his memory, music, and legacy. Sugarfoot, or Foot, or Sugar, was the founding and cornerstone artistic talent of OHIO PLAYERS and the face and sound of the OHIO PLAYERS brand, which he knit together and launched in 1964 with former members of The Ohio Untouchables. With a career spanning 56 years, he passed barely short of his 70th birthday.

John Wilkinson, guitarist for Elvis, dies aged 67
Written by admin on January 11, 2013 – 11:00 pm -American guitarist John Wilkinson, who was best known for playing with Elvis Presley’s TCB Band, has died aged 67.
Wilkinson was born in Washington D.C. on July 3, 1945 and grew up in Springfield, Missouri. After playing with a high school folk group called The Coachmen, Wilkinson headed to California and became a successful session musician. He also released several singles of his own in the late 1960s, including “July, You’re a Woman,” “(You’ve Got) Nothing to Be Ashamed Of,” and “The Last Resort”.
