Franny Beecher of Bill Haley & His Comets dies aged 92
Written by admin on February 25, 2014 – 5:59 pm -Franny Beecher, guitarist for Bill Haley & His Comets, died on Monday morning (February 24) at a nursing home in Philadelphia, aged 92.
Born Francis Beecher on September 29, 1921 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, he began playing guitar professionally aged 17 and would go on to play with the likes of Buddy Greco and His Three Sharps, and the Benny Goodman Orchestra, before joining Bill Haley & His Comets at the end of 1954.

Pete Seeger – 1919-2014
Written by admin on January 29, 2014 – 3:07 pm -American folk singer-songwriter and political activist Pete Seeger sadly passed away on Monday (January 27) at New York–Presbyterian Hospital. He was 94.
Seeger wrote/co-wrote some of the most significant folk songs of all time, including “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?”, “Turn, Turn, Turn!”, and “If I Had a Hammer”.

Phil Everly dies aged 74
Written by admin on January 4, 2014 – 6:43 am -Phil Everly has sadly died at a hospital in Burbank, California, aged 74. His wife, Patti, told the LA Times that he died from complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Lou Reed dies aged 71
Written by admin on October 27, 2013 – 7:20 pm -Legendary singer and songwriter Lou Reed died of a liver-related ailment in New York on Sunday morning (Oct 27). The former Velvet Underground frontman had a liver transplant earlier this year.

Cowboy Jack Clement dies aged 82
Written by admin on August 8, 2013 – 9:14 pm -Cowboy Jack Clement died today (August 8) in Nashville after a long battle with liver cancer. He was 82.
Clement had a long and varied career as a singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer, working with such legends as Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Louis Armstrong.
