Bobby Hebb dies aged 72

Hebb was a singer-songwriter best known for his composition of the classic song “Sunny,” which he took to number two on the US pop charts in 1966. |

Harvey Fuqua dies aged 80
Written by admin on July 7, 2010 – 9:01 pm -Harvey Fuqua died on Tuesday at a hospital in Detroit from “coronary problems” linked to an unspecified illness. He was 80-years-old.
Fuqua was a founding member of the doo-wop group the Moonglows and went on to become an important figure in the development of the Motown label. |

Kinks bassist Peter Quaife dies

Jimmy Dean dead aged 81
Written by admin on June 14, 2010 – 10:56 pm -Country singer and sausage entrepreneur Jimmy Dean died of natural causes on Sunday at his home in Varina, VA. He was 81.
Jimmy Ray Dean was born in Seth Ward, just outside Plainview, at the base of the Texas panhandle, on August 10, 1928. He came to prominence as a country singer in 1953 with his song “Bumming Around,” but will be best remembered for his 1961 hit “Big Bad John.” The novelty song spent five weeks at number one on the Billboard charts and has been covered and parodied on many occasions. |

Marvin Isley dies aged 56
Written by admin on June 7, 2010 – 9:32 pm -Marvin Isley, of the legendary Isley Brothers, died last night after years of ill health. He was 56-years-old.
Marvin joined his older brothers, Ronald and Ernie, in the Isley Brothers band in 1973 and the group recorded their platinum-selling “3 + 3” album, which was followed by a string of gold and platinum records throughout the remainder of the decade.
