Rod Stewart has told Billboard.com that he will release a new rock album in the spring of 2013, tentatively titled “Love the Life You Live”. It will be his first rock album since 2001’s “Human”.

The Beach Boys will commemorate their 50th anniversary tour next month with the release of “The Beach Boys: Live in Concert – 50th Anniversary Tour” on DVD and Blu-ray. The title will be released on November 20 in North America. There’s no news yet on a worldwide release date.

Deep Purple are releasing a five-disc box set to commemorate the 40th anniversary of their 1972 album “Machine Head”. The release includes four CDs, one DVD and a 60-page book.

“Machine Head” was Deep Purple’s sixth studio album and third featuring the so-called Mark-II line-up of Ian Gillan (vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Roger Glover (bass), Jon Lord (keyboards), and Ian Paice (drums). The band began recording the album in December 1971 at the Grand Hotel in Montreux, Switzerland. A fire at their intended recording location at the Montreux Casino inspired the classic song “Smoke On The Water,” which opened side two of “Machine Head”.
