Freddie Mercury to appear in “We Will Rock You” musical

Freddie Mercury will feature in a 10th anniversary performance of the West End musical “We Will Rock You” on May 14.

Freddie’s former bandmate, Brian May, told the BBC that the production team had been working on ways to include the late singer in the production, but that they will not be using a hologram effect. May describes the approach as “an optical illusion of sorts” and claims that “People will come out saying, ‘did we actually see Freddie?'”.

Neil Diamond marries Katie McNeil

Neil Diamond married his manager, Katie McNeil, on Saturday in Los Angeles.

This is the first marriage for 42-year-old McNeil, and the third for Diamond, who turned 71 in January.

In Performance at the White House – Red, White and Blues

Mick Jagger, B.B. King, Buddy Guy and others came together in the East Room of the White House last night to celebrate the history of blues music.

The event took place as part of Black History Month and will air on PBS on Monday as “In Performance at the White House – Red, White and Blues.”

Franklin and Wonder to perform at Whitney’s funeral

Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder are expected to sing at Whitney Houston’s funeral on Saturday, which takes places at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. Franklin was Houston’s godmother, as was singer Darlene Love, who will also attend the funeral.
