Top ten Rolling Stones covers

Hearing it on the radio a few days ago got me thinking about the many covers there have been of Rolling Stones’ songs and which have been the best. |

Phil Lynott profile

I thought I’d mark the day by talking about one of Ireland’s favourite sons, Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy.
Although always associated with Ireland, Phil Lynott was actually born on August 20, 1949 in West Bromwich, England. His mother was Irish, however, and he moved to Dublin when he was four.

NME and Uncut photo collections

The Sonic Editions collections, launched in conjunction with the NME and Uncut magazines, feature such legendary acts as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Doors, Blondie, Pink Floyd, The Clash, The Jam, The Sex Pistols and Oasis.

Record breaking music deal for Michael Jackson
Written by admin on March 16, 2010 – 5:41 pm -Michael Jackson’s estate has signed what is claimed to be the most lucrative record deal of all time with Sony Corp. The estate will receive up to $250 million for 10 albums over seven years.
The deal is expected to cover an album of previously unreleased songs due for release by the end of 2010, a collection of remixes and expanded reissues of his classic albums, including “Off the Wall” and “Bad.” |

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2010
Written by admin on March 16, 2010 – 7:55 am -The 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony took place last night at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York City.
Inductees in the performer category were:
ABBA – inducted by The Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb
Abba’s Frida Lyngstad and Benny Andersson accepted the award. Bandmates Bjorn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Faltskog couldn’t make the ceremony.
