Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota.

Folk singer Gil Robbins dies aged 80

Gil Robbins American folk singer, Gil Robbins, has died at his home in Esteban Cantu, Mexico, aged 80. Robbins’ best known work was with the early ’60s group The Highwaymen.

Bob Dylan plays first show in China

Bob Dylan performed for the first time in China last night. The folk legend played a two-hour gig in front of a capacity audience of 5,000 at the Workers Gymnasium in Beijing.

Bob Dylan Promoters had tried to bring Dylan to China last year, but permission was denied by the country’s Culture Ministry.
