“The History of the Winter Dance Party” – Buddy Holly: 56 Years On
Written by admin on February 3, 2015 – 8:57 am -Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Boppper died 56 years ago today in a plane crash, following a gig in Clear Lake, Iowa. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame’s “The History of the Winter Dance Party” documentary features Dion DiMucci’s interesting recollections of that final tour, “The Winter Dance Party”.

“Glen Campbell… I’ll Be Me” movie opens in October

The documentary, directed and produced by James Keach (producer of “Walk The Line”) and produced by Trevor Albert (“Groundhog Day”), is an inspiring portrait of the life and 50-year career of Glen Campbell, culminating with his worldwide “Goodbye Tour”.

Brian Wilson biopic, “Love & Mercy,” premieres in September
Written by admin on July 22, 2014 – 7:45 pm -The Brian Wilson biopic, “Love & Mercy,” will receive its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
The movie, directed by Bill Pohlad and co-produced by Brian Wilson, follows Wilson’s life from the mid-1960s through to the early-1990s. Paul Dano and John Cusack play the young and older Brian Wilson, respectively, and Elizabeth Banks stars as Wilson’s second wife, Melinda. Paul Giamatti plays Wilson’s controversial therapist, Dr. Eugene Landy.

Tom Hiddleston to play Hank Williams in “I Saw the Light”
Written by admin on June 14, 2014 – 4:36 pm -English actor Tom Hiddleston has been cast as country music legend Hank Williams in the forthcoming biopic “I Saw the Light”. The movie will be directed by Marc Abraham, who also wrote the screenplay based on a biography by Colin Escott.

Unseen Grateful Dead footage featured in “Beat Club 4/21/72” film
Written by admin on June 11, 2014 – 1:08 am -A previously unseen Grateful Dead television performance will receive a one-night only theatrical release across North America on July 17. “Beat Club 4/21/72” features the band performing a short version of their 1972 European tour set on the German television show “Beat Club”.
