Paul McCartney visits Elvis Presley’s Graceland
Written by admin on May 26, 2013 – 11:34 pm -Paul McCartney dropped by Graceland earlier today to pay tribute to Elvis Presley. McCartney visited the mansion ahead of a gig at Memphis’ FedExForum. This was McCartney’s first Memphis gig since his April 1993 appearance at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

Conan O’Brien interviews music historian Peter Guralnick
Written by admin on May 25, 2013 – 4:45 pm -Music historian, Peter Guralnick, has joined Conan O’Brien on the Serious Jibber-Jabber show for an in-depth discussion about Elvis Presley, Sun Records and Sam Cooke.
Guralnick is best known for his acclaimed biographies of Elvis, “Last Train to Memphis” and “Careless Love,” and his excellent biography of Sam Cooke, “Dream Boogie: The Triumph of Sam Cooke”. He is currently working on a biography of Sam Phillips, the man behind the revolutionary Sun Records music label.

Beatles guitar sells for $408,000
Written by admin on May 20, 2013 – 9:53 am -A guitar played by both John Lennon and George Harrison has exceeded expectations by selling for $408,000 (£269,000). The sale was held by Julien’s Auctions at the Hard Rock Café in New York’s Times Square.
The 1966 guitar was a custom prototype built by Mike Bennett, with electronics by Dick Denney of Vox guitars.

Elvis Presley’s “Love Me Tender” coming to Blu-ray
Written by admin on May 13, 2013 – 7:59 pm -Fox Home Entertainment has announced that Elvis Presley’s debut movie “Love Me Tender” will be released on Blu-ray on July 30.
The movie was filmed and released in 1956, the year that Elvis broke through in a big way on the national stage with a series of huge chart hits, and high-profile television appearances.
