Warhol’s “Double Elvis” expected to sell for $50 million
Written by admin on March 21, 2012 – 6:03 pm -Andy Warhol’s iconic “Double Elvis (Ferus Type)” portrait is expected to fetch up to $50 million when it is auctioned by Sotheby’s in May.
“Double Elvis” features Elvis in a pose from his 1960 movie “Flaming Star”. The work was one of 22 pieces in Andy Warhol’s Elvis series, of which nine are in museum collections. |

“Icon – The Influence of Elvis Presley” exhibit opens at Graceland
Written by admin on March 1, 2012 – 7:57 pm -A new exhibit exploring Elvis Presley’s impact on popular music opened at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee today.
The “Icon – The Influence of Elvis Presley” exhibit includes 75 items on loan from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, along with other memorabilia procured directly from artists who have been influenced by Elvis, including Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, U2, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Elton John, Joan Jett, Katy Perry, and many more. |

Billy Strange – 1930-2012
Written by admin on February 22, 2012 – 10:38 pm -Veteran songwriter, arranger, singer and prolific session musician Billy Strange died today in Nashville aged 81.
Born William Everett Strange on September 29, 1930 in Long Beach, California, he would go on to work with some of the biggest artists of all time during his lengthy career, including Elvis Presley, Frank and Nancy Sinatra, the Beach Boys, the Everly Brothers, Rick Nelson, Dean Martin, Willie Nelson, the Ventures and many more.
