The New Releases page has been updated to include music CD, DVD and Blu-ray releases for January.

Highlights for January include:

• “The Rolling Stones – Crossfire Hurricane” on DVD and Blu-ray (7 Jan)
• “12-12-12 – The Concert for Sandy Relief 2-CD collection (22 Jan)
• UK release of the vinyl edition of Elvis’ “Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite” (21 Jan)
• Deluxe and super deluxe editions of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours” – (29 Jan)
• 35th anniversary edition of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Texas Flood” (29 Jan).

The latest Elvis title to get the “Legacy Edition” treatment is the 1973 chart topping album “Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite”.

The two-disc “Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite – Legacy Edition” will feature the original album as well as a remixed version of the “Alternate Aloha” show which was a rehearsal recorded two days before the main show and originally released in 1988.

Elvis Presley would have celebrated his 78th Birthday today and as always fans around the world have descended upon the the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s Memphis home to pay tribute to their idol.

The Elvis Birthday celebrations kicked off on Saturday and will conclude today at Graceland with the annual Elvis Presley Day ceremony at 9:30am EST. The ceremony will include a birthday cake cutting and a proclamation of Elvis Presley Day by Memphis and Shelby County officials.

Elvis Presley’s “Santa Claus Is Back In Town” is Song of the Week on Classic Pop Icons. “Santa Claus Is Back In Town” was released in October 1957 on “Elvis’ Christmas Album,” the 1970 reissue of which would go on to become the best selling Christmas album of all time in the US. It didn’t appear on single in the US until 1965, when it was backed with “Blue Christmas”.

Visitors to Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion in 2013 will be able to enjoy new exhibits that explore Elvis’ associations with Hawaii and Las Vegas.

Elvis’ Hawaii: Concerts, Movies and More!

The “Elvis’ Hawaii: Concerts, Movies and More!” exhibit opens on January 8 in conjunction with the Elvis 2013 Birthday Celebration. The launch also coincides with the 40th anniversary of the worldwide “Aloha From Hawaii” television special, and will feature the American Eagle jumpsuits worn in the rehearsal and main show.
