Harry Nilsson 17-CD collection and biography
Written by admin on July 2, 2013 – 3:34 pm -Legacy Recordings releases the 17-CD “Harry Nilsson – The RCA Albums Collection” on July 30, two weeks after the publication of the biography “Nilsson: The Life of a Singer-Songwriter.”
Harry Nilsson – The RCA Albums Collection
The RCA Albums Collection presents the definitive 14 albums in Nilsson’s RCA Records U.S. discography, from his 1967 debut “Pandemonium Shadow Show,” to his final album for the label in 1977, “Knnillssonn”. The set also includes 65 bonus tracks on these albums, of which 26 are previously unreleased. Fans are also treated to three newly-compiled CDs, “Nilsson Sessions 1967-1968,” “Nilsson Sessions 1968-1971,” and “Nilsson Sessions 1971-1974,” which contain 58 tracks, of which 29 are previously unreleased.

Conan O’Brien interviews music historian Peter Guralnick
Written by admin on May 25, 2013 – 4:45 pm -Music historian, Peter Guralnick, has joined Conan O’Brien on the Serious Jibber-Jabber show for an in-depth discussion about Elvis Presley, Sun Records and Sam Cooke.
Guralnick is best known for his acclaimed biographies of Elvis, “Last Train to Memphis” and “Careless Love,” and his excellent biography of Sam Cooke, “Dream Boogie: The Triumph of Sam Cooke”. He is currently working on a biography of Sam Phillips, the man behind the revolutionary Sun Records music label.

Brian Wilson to write memoir
Written by admin on April 17, 2013 – 10:14 pm -Brian Wilson has signed a deal with Da Capo Press to write his memoir. The Beach Boys legend will work on the book with Rolling Stone and Men’s Journal editor Jason Fine.
The press release promises that Wilson will:
“Describe, for the first time, the epic highs and lows of his lifeāfrom his tumultuous relationship with his father, the loss of his mother and brothers, his fears about live performance, and the struggles he faced to lead the Beach Boys away from surf music into experimental terrain to his remarkable personal and professional comeback from drug addiction and mental illness with the support of his second wife, Melinda. He will share a new level of emotional honesty never before expressed in earlier books about him.”
