Led Zeppelin and Buddy Guy to receive Kennedy Center Honors
Written by admin on September 12, 2012 – 9:41 pm -The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has revealed that the recipients of the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors will be Buddy Guy, Led Zeppelin, David Letterman, Dustin Hoffman and ballerina Natalia Makarova.
Kennedy Center Chairman, David M. Rubenstein, said “Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant transformed the sound of rock & roll with their lyricism and innovative song structures, infusing blues into the sound of rock & roll and laying the foundation for countless rock bands.”

Paul McCartney receives the Legion of Honour
Written by admin on September 8, 2012 – 9:13 pm -Sir Paul McCartney has received France’s highest award, the Légion d’Honneur (Legion of Honour), for services to music.
McCartney was named an Officer of the Légion d’Honneur by President Francois Hollande during a ceremony at the Elysee Palace in Paris today. Hollande joked that he preferred the Beatles to the Rolling Stones, and said that Paul had been his favourite Beatle when he was growing up.

Chuck Berry chosen as Rock Hall’s 17th American Music Master
Written by admin on July 24, 2012 – 6:22 pm -Chuck Berry will be honoured as an American Music Master by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October.
The rock ‘n’ roll legend will be the subject of a weeklong celebration titled “Roll Over Beethoven: The Life and Music of Chuck Berry,” which will include interviews, panels, films, a keynote lecture, and a tribute concert at which Berry will perform. |

Ronnie Wood triumphs at radio awards
Written by admin on July 5, 2012 – 2:39 pm -Ronnie Wood was a double winner at last night’s annual Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, which took place at London’s Westminster Bridge Park Plaza Hotel.
The Ronnie Wood show, which airs on Absolute Radio, picked up awards for the feature of the year and, for the second year in a row, the specialist programme of the year.
