Music stars including Bruce Springsteen, Tom Jones, Neil Young and Willie Nelson paid tribute to Bob Dylan as he was named the MusiCares Person of the Year for 2015 at a gala on Friday night.

Dylan was introduced by former President Jimmy Carter. During his 30-minute acceptance speech, he paid tribute to those who had inspired him and covered his work, including Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash and Joan Baez.

The Recording Industry Association of America has certified Barbra Streisand’s album “Partners” as Platinum, with over 1,000,000 sold. “Partners” is Streisand’s 31st Platinum album, which is the most achieved by any female recording artist. She also has 53 Gold and 14 multi-Platinum albums.

George Harrison and the Bee Gees will receive the Recording Academy’s ® Lifetime Achievement award at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in February.

The same honour will go to blues guitarist Buddy Guy, French composer Pierre Boulez, Tex-Mex accordionist Flaco Jiménez, country music duo the Louvin Brothers, and saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced that the 2015 inductees will be Lou Reed, Green Day, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Bill Withers, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Ringo Starr will receive the Award For Musical Excellence and the “5” Royales will receive the Early Influence Award.

Chuck Berry received the prestigious Polar Music Prize at a ceremony in Stockholm on Tuesday (Aug 26). American opera and theatre director, Peter Sellars, was also honoured at the ceremony, which was attended by members of the Swedish Royal Family.
