BBC Four will pay tribute to Dusty Springfield tonight, the day before the 14th anniversary of her death.

The night kicks off at 9:00pm with “Dusty At The BBC” which features a selection of Dusty’s greatest performances at the BBC from 1961 to 1995. Next up is the hour-long documentary “Definitely Dusty” at 10:00pm. This tells the story of her impressive career through archive footage, and interviews with Dusty and friends, including Elton John, Burt Bacharach, Neil Tennant, Lulu and Martha Reeves.

Jackie DeShannon will receive the Governor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum in April. DeShannon was born Sharon Lee Myers in Hazel, Kentucky, on August 21, 1944.

English singer-songwriter and founding member of Soft Machine, Kevin Ayers, has died at his home in Montolieu, France aged 68. Soft Machine are regarded as one of the pioneers of British psychedelia.
