Canadian rockers honoured with stamps
Written by admin on July 21, 2013 – 8:26 pm -Rush, Guess Who, the Tragically Hip, and Beau Dommage will all be featured on postage stamps as part of Canada Post’s Canadian Recording Artists stamp series.
Designer Louis Gagnon of Paprika drew on feedback from the groups to focus on what fans recognised most about the artists.
The Rush and The Guess Who stamps feature the iconic logos that have been associated with the bands for decades.
The Tragically Hip and Beau Dommage stamps feature group shots of the band members.
The stamps will be released on Friday, July 26.
Other musicians who have appeared on Canadian stamps in recent years have included Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell, Paul Anka, Anne Murray, Robbie Robertson, Kate and Anna McGarrigle, and Bruce Cockburn.
