Bowiefest – Three-day celebration of Bowie’s movie career
Written by admin on August 30, 2012 – 9:37 am -The UK’s first film festival dedicated to the work of David Bowie runs from tomorrow (August 31), through to Sunday (September 2) at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), London.
The schedule for Bowiefest is as follows:
Fri, August 31
- 1pm – Spiders From Mars’ drummer Woody Woodmansey in conversation with Tom Wilcox
- 7pm – Screening of “Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars” followed by a party with DJs Fabio Almeida and Tom Wilcox.
Saturday, September 1
- 1pm – Screening of “Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence”
- 3.15pm – Screening of “The Man Who Fell To Earth” plus Q&A with Nic Roeg
- 6.20pm – Screening of “Christiane F”
- 9pm – Screening of “The Hunger” followed by a party with TheMenWhoFell2Earth and Tris Penna DJing.
Sunday, September 2
- 1.30pm – Screening of “Labyrinth”
- 3.30pm – Screening of “Absolute Beginners”
- 6pm – Alan Yentob in conversation with Jeremy Deller about the BBC Omnibus documentary “Cracked Actor”.
