Bob Dylan is to release a new volume of his Bootleg Series in October.
The 47-track “Bootleg Series Vol. 9” will feature previously unreleased demos recorded in New York’s Leeds and Witmark studios between 1962 and 1964. |
The previous titles in Bob Dylan’s Bootlegs Series were:
- 1991 – The Bootlegs Series – Vols 1-3: Rare & unreleased
- 1998 – The Bootleg Series Vol 4: The Royal Albert Hall Concert
- 2002 – The Bootleg Series Vol 5: The Rolling Thunder Revue
- 2004 – The Bootleg Series Vol 6: Concert at Philharmonic Hall
- 2005 – The Bootleg Series Vol 7: No Direction Home – The Soundtrack
- 2008 – The Bootlegs Series Vol 8: Tell Tale Signs: Rare and Unreleased 1989-2006.
October will be an expensive month for Dylan collectors, as he is also reissuing his first eight albums (from his 1962 self-titled debut through 1967’s “John Wesley Harding”) in mono format, mastered using first issue copies of the mono LPs in order to recreate the sound of the original releases. Liner notes will be written by Greil Marcus.
