Columbia/Legacy Recordings are marking Billy Joel’s 40 years as a solo artist with an impressive “Billy Joel – Complete Albums Collection” box set and a two-CD Legacy Edition of his classic album “Piano Man,” which contains an unreleased live performance from 1972.

Billy Joel – The Complete Albums Collection

The 15-CD set features the following albums:

The albums have been remastered in 24 bit audio and each will be presented in cardboard jackets replicating the original album covers and sleeves. The set also comes with two 60-page booklets, printed lyrics to every Billy Joel composition, a Q&A with Billy, and a bonus disc of the following B-sides and other rarities:

Piano Man – Legacy Edition

The “Piano Man – Legacy Edition” includes the original classic album remastered, plus a second CD featuring, for the first time ever, Billy’s performance at Philadelphia’s Sigma Sound Studio on April 15, 1972, as originally broadcast on WMMR. Among the songs from this broadcast are three that do not appear on any other Billy Joel album – “Long, Long Time,” “Josephine,” and “Rosalinda.” The second disc of the Legacy Edition is not included in the Complete Albums Collection box set.
