You can now cast your votes to choose which artists you think should be the inaugural inductees into America’s Pop Music Hall of Fame.

Voters are asked to choose five artists from a list of 40, all of whom had a national hit between 1946 and 1975. Among the artists in this initial 40 are Elvis Presley, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, Frank Sinatra, the Supremes, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond, the Monkees, the Carpenters, Chubby Checker, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, and Simon & Garfunkel.

America’s Pop Music Hall of Fame is scheduled to open next July in a temporary home in Canonsburg, just outside Pittsburgh. Fundraising is under way for a permanent building.

The Hall of Fame will announce the top 20 inductees in May and they will be formally inducted on July 2, 2013.
