Written by admin on March 28, 2011 – 8:57 pm -Last week saw the publication of a superb collection of unreleased Beatles photographs from the archives of Bob Bonis. “The Lost Beatles Photographs: The Bob Bonis Archive, 1964-1966” features 192 pages of the Beatles at work and play at the height of Beatlemania.
Bob Bonis was the tour manager for both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for their American tours between 1964 and 1966. He was also a talented amateur photographer and snapped hundreds of photos of The Beatles and Stones on stage, backstage, on planes and on vacation, most of which have never been seen.
Bonis died in 1992 and his treasure trove of photos remained unseen until recent exhibitions by the Not Fade Away Gallery and now publication in the impressive “Lost Beatles Photographs” book.
A collection of Bonis’ Rolling Stones photos was released last November in the book “The Lost Rolling Stones Photographs: The Bob Bonis Archive, 1964-1966.”
The 266 page, hardcover book features a foreward by Stones’ drummer Charlie Watts. |
