Dion back in the studio
Written by admin on March 3, 2011 – 5:56 pm -Dion DiMucci is back in the recording studio laying down tracks for a new album.
Dion placed the following update on his Facebook page today:
“I went into the studio last week – we got started on a new album. We laid down 12 new original songs, I had a blast..(two guitars, bass & drums.) We got a great start on this CD. It’s quite a cool mix of tracks. All the songs are close to my “heart ‘n’ soul.” Feels good… rock on.” |
Dion’s last album was 2008’s “Heroes: Giants of Early Guitar Rock” which featured covers of early rock classics by Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Ritchie Valens, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and the Everly Brothers.
Next month will see the release of the autobiography Dion: The Wanderer Talks Truth.”
The 144-page book features anecdotes spanning Dion’s long career during which he has worked with artists as diverse as Buddy Holly, Sam Cooke and Bruce Springsteen. It also charts his return to Catholicism in the late 1990s. |
