The Elvis events aren’t restricted to Memphis. Those of you who are visiting Las Vegas this weekend will find that the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has a memorabilia display at Johnny Smalls to honour the anniversary of Elvis’ death. Items on show include a 357 magnum from Elvis’ personal gun collection, a Gibson Dove guitar with a signature mother-of-pearl inlay on the fingerboard, and the Shooting Star Jumpsuit designed by Bill Belew for Elvis in 1972.
Chef Scott Minervini has also created an Elvis-inspired Peanut Butter and Banana Beignet with Candied Pepper Bacon Fries, and you can follow that with the “Elvistini Cocktail,” which blends Baileys, Creme de Banane, Chambord, and Frangelico.
