Neil Young gigs to benefit oil spill victims
Written by admin on August 13, 2010 – 9:16 am -Neil Young is playing four gigs in September to benefit those who have been affected by the BT oil spill on America’s Gulf Coast.
Young is teaming up with Tyson Foods to combat hunger in the areas most affected by the oil spill. Tyson Foods will donate the equivalent of 400,000 meals and concertgoers are also being asked to bring non-perishable foods for donation to the Bay Area Food Bank. |
The following four shows are planned for this mini tour:
- September 20 – Panama City, FL – Marina Civic Center
- September 25 – Biloxi, MS – IP Showroom
- September 26 – Mobile, AL – Saenger Theatre
- September 28 – Pensacola, FL – Saenger Theatre.
In a statement on the forthcoming shows, Young said:
“Millions of people who live along the Gulf Coast struggle with hunger and the economic impact of the oil spill has only made matters worse. I appreciate the willingness of John Tyson and his company to get involved by helping the regional food bank help feed those in need. We both encourage concertgoers to spend money locally and support local business.” |
