Votes sought on John Lennon coin

The series honours the “greatest men and women in British history.” John Lennon would be the first to be honoured from the world of popular music if he is chosen. |
Votes are sought to establish which of the following six choices will feature on a new coin to be produced later this year:
- Jane Austen
- Douglas Bader
- Walter Raleigh
- Emmeline Pankhurst
- John Logie Baird
- John Lennon.
The person who receives the most votes will join the following 24 British heroes in the “Great Britons” series:
- Sir Winston Churchill
- Queen Elizabeth I
- Bobby Moore
- Queen Victoria
- Charles Darwin
- Sir Isaac Newton
- Isambard Kingdom Brunel
- William Shakespeare
- Robert Falcon Scott
- Florence Nightingale
- Charles Dickens
- Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson
- Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother
- Captain James Cook
- Sir Alexander Fleming
- Diana, Princess of Wales
- Sir Edward Elgar
- 1st Viscount Montgomery
- King Henry VIII
- Sir Christopher Wren

Paul McCartney is a music genuis and he should be included too with John Lennon who was also great!What a biased snub!

Paul should be included with John Lennon!

In order to be included on British currency you have to be dead – with the exception of the monarch of course. So Paul couldn’t be included.
