New solo album from Doors guitarist
Written by admin on June 16, 2010 – 11:02 pm -The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger is releasing his first solo album in a decade.
The new album, “Singularity,” will be released on the Oglio label on June 29 and has been described as “flamenco meets jazz rock.” “Singularity” is Krieger’s ninth solo album since his “Robby Krieger & Friends” solo debut in 1977. His previous solo album was in 2000 with “Cinematix.” |
Krieger told Classic Rock magazine:
“It was named after my painting which we used for the album cover. A singularity is a profound event such as the big bang, which was the creation of the universe. I could have started with something smaller, such as, say the destruction of a galaxy or two, but I figured what the hell. Hopefully, the music evokes thoughts along those lines.” |
Here’s the tracklist for “Singularity”:
- Russian Caravan (Intro) 3:24
- Russian Caravan 10:12
- Southern Cross 4:45
- Event Horizon (Intro) 2:25
- Event Horizon 7:22
- Coffin Dodger 3:12
- Trane Running Late 4:35
- Let It Slide 5:27
- Solar Wind 4:25
