Shake, Rattle and Roll – Rock ‘n’ Roll Exhibition
Written by admin on May 24, 2010 – 8:44 am -Iconic photographs of some of rock ‘n’ roll’s biggest stars will be available to view and buy this week at the “Shake, Rattle and Roll – Rock ‘n’ Roll Exhibition” in Knightsbridge, London.
The exhibition features photographs by three celebrated and award-winning photographers – David Montgomery, Terry O’Neill and Baron Wolman. Among the stars featured are The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendrix and Amy Winehouse. |
About the photographers
David Montgomery is an internationally renowned portrait photographer. He was born in New York, but took up residence in England in the 1960s. Among his most famous sitters are Muhammad Ali, Queen Elizabeth II, Bill Clinton, Andy Warhol, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Sir Paul McCartney and Clint Eastwood.
Terry O’Neill was born in 1938 in London and is best known for his photographs of some of the biggest icons of the 1960s, including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. He is also well known for his marriage to Faye Dunaway and the classic images he took of her the morning after winning her Oscar.
Baron Wolman was a founding member of the Rolling Stone team in 1967. He stayed with the magazine for three years, during which time he took pictures of some of the biggest stars of popular music, including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Joan Baez, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison.
The “Shake, Rattle and Roll – Rock ‘n’ Roll Exhibition” will take place from May 26 at Brompton Quarter Brasserie in Knightsbridge.
