Paul McCartney says farewell to Candlestick Park
Written by admin on August 15, 2014 – 4:54 pm -Paul McCartney returned to the site of the Beatles’ last paid concert to close San Francisco’s Candlestick Park on Thursday night (August 14).
McCartney and his band filmed a promo ahead of the gig.
The crowd of 50,000 was entertained by a dynamic show full of hits, which concluded with “Long Tall Sally” – the same song the Beatles had closed with on August 29, 1966.

Previously unseen images of the 1966 show taken by Jim Marshall were presented on the big screens at the show.

These images will be featured in a new book of Marshall’s work titled “Haight: Love, Rock and Revolution,” which will be available on October 14.
McCartney’s “Out There” tour resumes on September 28 at Petco Park in San Diego.
