Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings will celebrate Billy Joel’s 1987 Russian tour with the release of “A Matter of Trust – The Bridge to Russia” on May 19. “A Matter of Trust” will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, 2 CDs, and deluxe box sets feauturing the CDs and either a DVD or Blu-ray.

With the cold war thawing, the Kremlin invited Billy Joel to perform in the Soviet Union in 1987. After a small acoustic concert in Tbilisi, Billy Joel became the first American artist to stage a rock show when he performed three stadium shows in Moscow and three in Leningrad in August 1987. The tour was professionally filmed and the concerts were simulcast on radio worldwide.

The DVD/Blu-ray contain newly restored and remastered material from “Live In Leningrad, 1987,” a full-length concert film that has been unseen since its VHS release. This edition is also expanded to feature previously unreleased content.
