Elton John postpones tour due to illness
Written by admin on July 9, 2013 – 6:53 pm -Elton John has postponed his summer tour because he is suffering from appendicitis. The star fell ill during his recent European tour and after a series of exploratory scans and blood test, a diagnosis of appendix abscess surrounding retrocaecal appendicitis was confirmed.
Elton is expected to undergo surgery in the coming weeks, after a course of intensive antibiotics.
The illness means that all forthcoming shows on Elton’s tour have been cancelled, including his headline show at London’s Hyde Park this Friday.
A spokesman for the singer said:
“Elton is incredibly disappointed to postpone these tour dates. To know that he made such super-human efforts and continued to perform to thousands through his illness only confirms his dedication to his European fans. He is eager to be back on top form and return to play the remaining shows starting in early September 2013.”

Elton John will release his new album “The Diving Board” in September. The album, produced by T Bone Burnett, is Elton’s first solo album since 2006’s “The Captain and the Kid”.
