
Jimi Hendrix voted greatest guitarist of all time
Written by admin on November 25, 2011 – 9:20 pm -Jimi Hendrix has topped Rolling Stone’s list of 100 greatest guitarists of all time for the second time.
The list was drawn up following the votes of an expert panel assembled by Rolling Stone. The panel included writers and journalists such as David Fricke and Peter Guralnick, and a host of top artists, including Ritchie Blackmore, James Burton, Steve Cropper, Kirk Hammett, Lenny Kravitz, Robby Krieger, Brian May, Roger McGuinn and Scotty Moore. |

The top 20 in Rolling Stone’s greatest guitarists of all time list are:

- Neil Young
- Les Paul
- James Burton
- Carlos Santana.
Hendrix’s top spot on the list is accompanied by an article from guitarist Tom Morello who said “Jimi Hendrix exploded our idea of what rock music could be: He manipulated the guitar, the whammy bar, the studio and the stage.”
