Classic Pop Icons

Bill Wyman, former bass player for the Rolling Stones, begins his three-part music series on Sirius XM Radio tonight. Wyman’s first show will feature classic electric blues from artists such as Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Howlin’ Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson and many others. The episode debuts on B.B. King’s Bluesville, channel 70, at 9:00 pm ET.

The second episode of The Bill Wyman Show will concentrate on the roots of rock and roll, and the artists who first inspired Wyman to make music, including Fats Domino, Little Richard and Sam Cooke. Episode two debuts on ’50s on 5, channel 5, on Monday, November 21 at 12:00 pm ET.

Episode three will include the music of the Rolling Stones and their contemporaries from the early 1960s. It will air later in the year on Little Steven’s Underground Garage, channel 21.

Bill Wyman is currently on a UK tour with his band The Rhythm Kings and special guest Mary Wilson of The Supremes. The 37-date tour began in October and concludes at the Watford Colosseum, Watford on December 2, 2011. Here’s the remaining dates:
