“Paul Simon – Songwriter” 2-CD collection
Written by admin on October 13, 2011 – 8:49 am -| Paul Simon celebrates his 70th birthday with a new 2-CD collection titled “Paul Simon – Songwriter.” The collection will feature “hits and hidden gems” selected by the composer himself.
The 32-track “Paul Simon – Songwriter” is not a conventional greatest hits, in that some of the biggest hits are missing and some lesser-known gems are included. |

Simon commented on the approach he took to the compilation in a recent interview with Tom Moon:
| “I left off some good ones — “You Can Call Me Al,” “Mrs. Robinson,” “The Late Great Johnny Ace” — but I tried to include songs that weren’t hit singles as well as the better known songs. I don’t always like the hits and I don’t usually pick the singles. That’s record company territory.” |
