Elvis Presley joins the “Setlist” series with the July 12 release of “Setlist: The Very Best of Elvis Presley Live.”
A strong selection of Elvis’ live performances are included, spanning the years 1969 to 1973, with the majority from his 1969 live comeback season at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. |
Here’s the track list for “Setlist: The Very Best of Elvis Presley Live”:
- That’s All Right – August 13, 1970 at The International Hotel, Las Vegas
- Blue Suede Shoes – August 22, 1969 at The International Hotel, Las Vegas

- Are You Lonesome Tonight? – August 22, 1969 at The International Hotel, Las Vegas

- Suspicious Minds – August 22, 1969 at The International Hotel, Las Vegas
- Can’t Help Falling In Love – August 22, 1969 at The International Hotel, Las Vegas.
With the exception of “In The Ghetto” and “Suspicious Minds,” the August 22, 1969 performances were heard on CD 2 of the 2008 FTD release “Elvis in Person.” The performances from August 13, 1970 were on the 2009 FTD “The Wonder Of You” and those from January 14, 1973 were on the original “Aloha From Hawaii” album.
There are stand out performances that would have fitted in nicely and perhaps given a more complete picture of where Elvis was at in this period, but “Setlist: The Very Best of Elvis Presley Live” is still a pretty solid introduction to Elvis the live performer and also very affordable.
Elvis is one of a number of artists incorporated into the “Setlist” series next month, including George Jones, Waylon Jennings and Miles Davis. Click here for a list of the new titles.
