“Over The Bridge Of Time: A Paul Simon Retrospective (1964-2011)” is the first single-CD collection ever to contain both Simon & Garfunkel recordings and Paul Simon’s solo hit singles.

The album is released worldwide on October 15, the same date as the 15-disc career-spanning “Paul Simon – The Complete Albums Collection” which features Simon’s 12 studio albums and two full-length live concert recordings.

“Over The Bridge Of Time: A Paul Simon Retrospective (1964-2011)” features 20 tracks, beginning with Simon & Garfunkel’s breakthrough hit “The Sound Of Silence.” After the classic “America,” the Simon & Garfunkel period concludes with four tracks from the great album “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” including the title track, “The Boxer,” “Cecilia” and “The Only Living Boy In New York.”

Paul Simon launched his solo career in 1972 with the album “Paul Simon” which yielded the singles “Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard” and the Hot 100 Top 5 hit, “Mother And Child Reunion,” both of which are featured on this collection.

Simon’s 1973 album “There Goes Rhymin’ Simon” is represented by the song “American Tune” and his Grammy-winning 1975 album “Still Crazy After All These Years” is represented by the title track and the Hot 100 #1 hit “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover”.

The final 1970s song on the collection is “Slip Slidin’ Away,” which also features the country-gospel Oak Ridge Boys vocal quartet.

The collection moves into the 1980s with the Grammy-nominated Top 10 hit, “Late in the Evening,” from the “One-Trick Pony” album, followed by the title track of the 1983 album “Hearts and Bones”.

Next up are “Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes” and “You Can Call Me Al” from the critically acclaimed hit album “Graceland” album on which Simon collaborated with the South African group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Simon’s first album of the 1990s was “The Rhythm of the Saints,” which is represented on this collection by “Spirit Voices”. The song also features the vocals of its co-writer Milton Nascimento.

The collection jumps a full decade for its next track, “That’s Where I Belong,” from the album “But You’re the One,” and closes with the title track of the 2006 album “Everything About It Is A Love Song” and “Love and Hard Times” from 2011’s “So Beautiful or So What”.
