Kate Bush receives CBE
Written by admin on April 10, 2013 – 5:03 pm -Kate Bush received her CBE from the Queen this morning at a special investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. She received the honour for her services to music.
Kate issued a statement following the ceremony:
“I feel incredibly thrilled to receive this honour which I share with my family, friends and fellow musicians and everyone who has been such an important part of it all. Now I’ve got something really special to put on top of the Christmas tree.”
She then elaborated on that statement on her official website:
“The ‘everyone’ in the quote above of course includes all of you. Thank you so very much for all your fantastic support and encouragement. I feel extremely privileged to still have an audience. It’s you that have made my work, which would otherwise have just been creative projects, into a success. Many, many thanks to the best fans ever, Kate x”.
Kate Bush has had 25 hits on the UK Top 40 since her breakthrough with “Wuthering Heights” in 1978. After several years out of the spotlight, she returned with the albums “Director’s Cut” and “50 Words for Snow” in 2011.
