The 54-year-old singer has had 25 UK Top 40 hits, including her number one breakthrough “Wuthering Heights” in 1978. She has also released 10 albums, of which three were chart toppers. Her most recent album was 2011’s “50 Words for Snow,” which reached number five on the UK Albums Chart.

Here’s four of Bush’s biggest hits…

There were two official videos created for “Wuthering Heights,” one for the European market and one for the American market. Here’s the American video.

“The Man with the Child in His Eyes” – Kate Bush

“Babooshka” – Kate Bush

“Running Up That Hill” – Kate Bush

Others honoured from the arts include fashion designer Stella McCartney, actor Ewan McGregor and comedy writer Jeremy Lloyd, who all get OBEs; artist Tracey Emin and choreographer Arlene Phillips, who receive CBEs; and illustrator Quentin Blake, who has been awarded a knighthood.

With Britain experiencing such a spectacular year of sport, it’s no surprise that so many top athletes featured in this year’s list, including knighthoods for Tour de France winner and Olympic Gold medallist Bradley Wiggins, GB cycling’s performance director Dave Brailsford, four-time Olympic sailing champion Ben Ainslie, and GB rowing chief Dave Tanner.
