House of Cash – The Life, Legacy and Archives of The Man in Black
Written by admin on October 26, 2011 – 4:17 pm -John Carter Cash, the only son of Johnny Cash and June Carter, has paid tribute to his famous father in a new lavishly illustrated book titled “House of Cash – The Life, Legacy and Archives of The Man in Black.”
Cash’s fascinating recollections, combined with a large number of unpublished photographs and documents, provide an intimate insight into the public and private life of Johnny Cash, from his childhood in Arkansas, through to his final days. |
John Carter Cash told ABC’s Good Morning America:
“After my parents passed away it became necessary to go through their things and to go through the storage vaults. There were piles and piles of junk and there were also of course… great treasures. And through that process it became a mission in my heart to want to share this deep view of my father in a way that I thought had never been shared before… |
“My father’s life, in so many ways, was an open book. I think so many people out there might have a conception of him that he was a dark and foreboding man… Hopefully the reader will come away with a better understanding of my father’s gentle nature, and the fact that he was a deeply spiritual man, a family man, (and he had) a great love for his family that never faltered.” |
John Carter Cash is a Grammy Award-winning music producer who worked with Rick Rubin as associate producer on the Johnny Cash “American III: Solitary Man” and “American IV: The Man Comes Around” albums.
